You can find it on my website, along with more detailed information about each product I used and where to buy it.

I’m pretty happy with how this has turned out. It’s not perfect as I’m still learning animation, but perfect isn’t what I’m striving for. this is our first introduction to Willow in the film, and I think she looks pretty cute. #weirdwilow #wave #2dstopmotion #stopmotion #feltstopmotion

Progress isn’t always linear, visible, or straight forward. Progress can be messy, slow, and tedious.

Another year has passed, and my second year of making ‘Weird Willow’ isn’t quite where I’d like it to be - that being said, most things have now been sewn for my 7 minute film - and I have about 25 seconds of completed animation - this isn’t a lot, but, its progress nonetheless.

Stop motion and 2d felt was never going to be an easy feat. I’ve learned this the hard way. This is an ambitious choice for someone who has never animated properly or made a film, some would call this a ridiculous choice - they would be correct - I couldn’t have chosen a slower medium. My naivety and lack of animating practice is what has lead me down this path - but, I think a stop motion world made out of felt will work well in a story about weirdness.

I have sacrificed evenings, weekends, seeing my family and friends in a bid to get this film made. I’ve battled through my own health problems just to get another stitch sewn. I’ve worked my 9-5 job from home then moved to another desk to start my animation work. Its just for now and not forever. 2 years in and theres still a long way to go.

I hope 2026 brings me closer to completing Weird Willow - and I’m aiming for a 2027 release.

Animation tests from the past year. Body and head turnarounds. (Excuse the lighting as they are only tests)

Figured these out by creating a hand drawn turnaround with animation paper, photographing and uploading them with dragon frame, drawing over and cleaning up each frame on photoshop, then printing off each frame individually to use as felt templates. Phew.

A few favourites from a recent commission

I’m very excited to announce that starting September, I will be running art workshops from the wonderful @pennyshousecafe

We will be starting out with a lino print making workshop as well as a felt decoration workshop.

Each session will be around 2 hours long and can seat 10 people - so ensure you reserve your spot.

2014 is when I originally wrote 'Weird Willow'. Production for my stop motion film started early 2024. This is a post about my journey so far, where 'Weird Willow' came from and where I'm up to now with my 2D Stop motion film. (2025)

n 2014 I wrote a poem called 'Weird Willow'. The inspiration came after the sudden death of Robin Williams, someone I had admired from a young age.

I've made these prints using lino printing equipment I've bought from TEMU

Everything you see in the image below is from TEMU, and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed by the quality of these tools, especially the paint. You can make a large variety of prints from home without spending a lot, or using any fancy equipment.
